Charlene Blanton was recognized for her philanthropic mindset and contributions to the community while providing exceptional relocation, downsizing and estate sale services to seniors and their families in the Myrtle Beach community.
MYRTLE BEACH, SC — Caring Transitions, a national franchise with over 300 units providing trusted senior relocation, downsizing and estate sale services, is proud to announce that Charlene Blanton, owner of the local Caring Transitions in Myrtle Beach, has been awarded Caring for a Cause at the brand’s recent Annual National Conference in New Orleans.
The conference brought together over 250 franchise owners, employees, leaders and vendor sponsors, celebrating the brand’s commitment to excellence and community service. The Caring for a Cause Award is given each year in honor of the late Jeff Rea who, along with his wife Donna, set a wonderful example of what it means to make an impact. The recipient of this award displays a philanthropic mindset and finds unique ways to contribute to the community.
While Blanton has received multiple awards and accolades for her work with Caring Transitions over the years, including the Pioneer Spirit and Franchise of the Year Awards, she’s especially proud of the Caring for a Cause award because of what it means for her local community.
“The Caring for a Cause Award is about investing in our local community at the grassroots level and being servant leaders,” Blanton said. “When you invest in your community and show them that they matter, what happens is they turn around and invest in you. It’s a beautiful, symbiotic relationship of serving each other, which in turn helps us serve families in the community who are facing life’s difficult transitions.”
Blanton and her team donate as many items as possible they gather through their work to local organizations and businesses in need, such as medical supplies and essential care items for senior living communities, or pet food and care items for animal shelters and rescues. Caring Transitions of Myrtle Beach also partners with organizations like Emmaus Road Partners for their Coastal Charitable Classic golf tournament fundraiser and the Hank Parker Invitation Shoot sporting clay fundraiser. The money raised goes back to organizations in the Myrtle Beach and Pawleys Island areas including Coastal School Ministries, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, and Meals on Wheels.
Every year at Christmas time, Blanton and her team especially look forward to their partnership with Myrtle Beach’s Meals on Wheels for their “Be a Santa to a Senior” event to support local seniors in need. The team puts together a list of essential items that seniors have requested and goes shopping for the gifts at Wal-Mart, then they deliver them to Meals on Wheels just in time for Christmas.
“Each award recipient, including Charlene Blanton, exemplifies our core values and our mission to provide unparalleled service,” said Caring Transitions President Ray Fabik. “Congratulations to Charlene and all our franchisees who continue to make a significant impact in their communities.”
As the nation’s largest provider of senior-relocation services, Caring Transitions is increasingly making waves in the $832.8 billion industry, as there are very few businesses specifically equipped to help seniors move from their homes to a care facility or to manage the relocation or sale of all personal belongings. Caring Transitions helps seniors relocate by spending time at their homes, helping them pack and organize their belongings, then moving those belongings to their new home and setting them up in a way that feels comfortable. The team then returns to the original location to arrange and host an in-person or online estate sale through its proprietary platform, CTBids. In 2023, the introduction of the CTBids mobile app made it even easier for clients to bid on unique and everyday treasures.
